When staying at home, especially with younger children, you can definitely find yourself singing Children's music, but according to Bloomberg.com, Children's music along with Country music has spiked in the amount streamed since March. Although now that many are able to go back to work, Country music is still finding its way closer to the top as most listened to genre of music in the United States.

Bloomberg reporter, Lucas Shaw, suggests that this is because of country music fans are now learning how to stream, since most of it's listeners are old-fashioned and merchandise from country singers and bands depend on CDs to get their music out, not through streaming sites like Pandora or Spotify. With music stores closed and everyone trying to stay home, CDs are getting left on a shelf, and many country artists are looking to such streaming sites for the first time.

Lets look at the facts: Country music has had 11.1% rise in listening through Spotify since mid-March. Spotify also reports that country music gets 127 million more streams a week. Shaw reports that after two years, Wallen, a country artist, released "If You Know Me" which generated 25 million streams in one week. This is more than Billie Eilish's grammy-winning album. Shaw also reports that Luke Combs gets 30 million streams a week more than Doja Cat or Megan Thee Stallion whom both have had songs top the charts during the pandemic. An executive at Pandora even stated that the country music creates "a good partner" with drinking, which alcohol sales have soared since the pandemic.
